Homeowners can take out a homeowner electrical permit and do the installation themselves. But the City generally will not accept a load calculation prepared by the homeowner — it needs to be completed and signed by a licensed or master electrician. So people do all the work, then discover they need a signature they can't provide.

How it works
No site visit needed for most homes. You need a phone, your panel, and about an hour.

You can pull a homeowner electrical permit and do the installation work yourself, but the load calculation generally has to be prepared and signed by a licensed or master electrician before the permit is approved. That signature is what this service provides.
Usually not. Most residential load calculations can be done over a video call where you walk through the panel, service and major appliances while I build the calculation live. In-person visits are available in the Calgary area when a project warrants one.
